The Institute for Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz) reported Wednesday the death of Noel Humberto Castro Colorado, former guerrilla of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and signatory of the Peace Agreement in 2016.

“This man was killed around 9:45 a.m. (local time) by armed men who were mobilizing on a motorcycle. The events occurred in the east of the municipality of Florencia while the signatory was storing his vehicle,” the organization said on its official Twitter account.

Castro Colorado was in the process of reincorporation in Agua Bonita — La Montañita — and was developing his project individually in Florencia, Caquetá (department of Caquetá), where he had moved due to security problems, according to the FARC component of the National Council for Reincorporation (Consejo Nacional de Reincorporación Comunes).

Rodrigo Londoño, alias Timochenko, who was the top leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) until 2016, when the armed group disbanded following the Peace Agreement with the government, condemned the murder on his Twitter profile.

The Comunes party and the Ideas for Peace Foundation warned that, since 2016 and until July 13, at least 336 ex-combatants have been killed, as reported by the newspaper ‘El Colombiano’.

However, Indepaz has counted 324 ex-combatants killed since the signing of the Peace Agreement, being Castro Colorado the 25th peace signatory killed this year during the Presidency of Iván Duque, as they have reported in their official Twitter profile.
