Earthquake of 5.2 magnitude trembles in central Chile


An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale has shaken the Valparaiso region in central Chile on Wednesday, with no reports of personal injuries so far.

The National Seismological Center has informed that the epicenter of the landslide is located 118 kilometers west of the municipality of El Tabo, at a depth of 30 kilometers, and that it has occurred at 17.21 hours (local time).

The Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Chilean Navy has indicated that the earthquake has not met the necessary conditions to generate a tsunami on the coasts of the country.

No injuries, structural damage, or basic services interrupted by the earthquake have been reported.
